Tumeric latte you say? Other wise known as golden milk….
Yes! This is so incredibly good for you. Tumeric is anti inflammatory which can reduce arthritis pain and is known to help prevent/treat cancer as well as boost your immune system. So yes, you want to drink this 🙂
Since I’ve been battling a cold the last week and it’s just that time of year, I decided to give you all a little recipe that’ll help you muddle through and potentially avoid any illness.
What exactly is tumeric? It’s a plant belonging to the ginger family and the roots of tumeric are what is used for cooking and consuming. Curcumin is what gives tumeric it’s vibrant color and contains a majority of the health benefits found in tumeric. However, only a small fraction of Curcumin is absorbed in your body. So you may want to take tumeric supplements to obtain a stronger effect. Black pepper, if used with tumeric, aids in dramatically increasing the absorption of curcumin into your body.
Let’s get to sipping shall we?
What you’ll need:
- 16oz of milk of choice
- 1 tbsp of tumeric
- 2 tbsp of honey
- 1/2 tsp of ginger
- pinch of nutmeg
- pinch of cinnamon
- pinch of cardamon
- pinch of pepper
Combine the spices together and mix well. Then, split the mixture evenly between two mugs.
Now, if you have a milk frother and would like to make this into a latte you can. I personally prefer the foam, but you can make it by simply heating the milk and honey over medium low heat just until it starts to steam. Then pour the milk into the mugs and give it a good stir.
There you have it a beautifully golden drink to enjoy and support your immunity.
Servings: 2 (8 oz servings)
(You can easily double, triple, etc. the recipe for more servings.)
Sit, sip, and relax.
This tea has a cozy feel to it and it’s perfect for when the weather starts to get chilly. Usually I make myself a cup when I’m feeling a cold coming my way. Best to treat it before it gets worse.
It’s not so hard to take care of our bodies. This is simple to make and very effective. Stay healthy people!
